Journal Aim & Scope
Bacteria, fungi, parasites, prions and viruses cause a plethora of diseases that have important medical, agricultural, and economic consequences. Moreover, the study of microbes continues to provide novel insights into such fundamental processes as the molecular basis of cellular and organismal function.

Articles from PLoS Pathogens, Genetics, and Biology are more suitable for research workers to learn from. They are considered reliable, with high recognition.

@aaass, WOS can search for articles published by Chinese people within one year, but why can't I find people who have published several articles in one year in recent years? Not to mention Chinese people. Why don't you reveal yourself?

No way, how can a student from our college submit several papers in just one year? It's not that mysterious.

PLoS Pathogens - Is it not simple to operate an impact factor? The editorial team of PLoS Pathogens, dedicated to our little corner of microbiology, nearly encompasses all the active big names. Let them write a few reviews and cover a few hot topics. These big names will attract attention. Publishing a review article by a big name in each direction every year can easily boost the impact factor to over 10.

But, if PLoS Pathogens were to do this, it would no longer be PLoS Pathogens, it would become Nature XX. I feel that PLoS is willing to sacrifice impact factors to maintain a high quality. It is still worth encouraging!! This leaves opportunities for publishing top journals in non-popular fields. Each issue of our Plos Pathogens group contains essential reading materials

PLOS Pathogens is definitely the preferred choice for microbiology! Why submit to a botany journal? It wouldn't look good on your resume

It's quite challenging. Doing research on plants can be compared to plant physiology, new phytologist, etc., but it is harder and more professional than the latter. Many articles exceed PNAS and plant cell. The requirement for innovation is very high. After all, it used to be the No.1 in the field of pathogens. The reviewer's comments are very helpful in improving the articles. It takes about half a year from submission to acceptance. Students have considered giving up at one point

Submitted to PP at the end of 2022 and was rejected after review. After adding six months of experiments and a lot of data, it was resubmitted but surprisingly not sent for review again.

Later, it was submitted to NC and after more than half a year of trouble, it was finally accepted. The professionalism of the editor and reviewers at PP is far superior compared to NC. Making revisions based on their feedback greatly improved the article. Ultimately, which is better, PP or NC, considering NC has an impact factor two to three times higher than PP? However, it feels like NC can still be a bit lenient, as the editors and reviewers are not as professional. It's much harder to get away with low-quality work at PP

The impact factor cannot reflect the true level of top journals in the industry. It is much harder to publish in PLoS compared to many medical journals with impact factors of ten or twenty. Chinese articles account for less than ten percent, making it difficult to publish

Planted one crop this year, spent one month on the first draft, sent it back two months later, made some minor revisions two weeks after that, and accepted it a week later

Cannot publish in Cell Host Micro and Nature Micro in non-popular fields. Plos Pathogens is the best choice. The additional experiments required for submission are twice the amount of data. The editors and reviewers are very professional and well-known in the industry. Although it is a 7-point journal, the quality of the articles is higher than 10 points.
