It has been in the hands of the editor for two months after submission, and nothing has been done at all. The efficiency of handling is completely not up to the standard of a top journal. Being demoted to the second zone is truly self-inflicted.

The speed is super slow, submitted in early 24, the first review came back after nine months, during which emails were either not replied to or said that the reviewer had been changed. There were three and a half reviewers' comments in the first review, which were acceptable. Revised in late January this year, it has been two months and still no response. It was forcibly downgraded from Zone 1 to Zone 2, deeply regretted submitting to this journal.

The process was quite slow, with submission in February 2024, major revisions requested in September, including the addition of two experiments. The revised version was submitted in November. The results were returned at the end of January 2025, with conditional acceptance and minor revisions required. The final acceptance was on February 11th. Submitted at the end of July 2023, received revisions in November, returned for revisions for one month, second round of revisions at the end of February, returned within two weeks, waited another two and a half months, back and forth with a few minor issues, finally accepted on May 20, 2024, after a 10-month ordeal. Luckily, the editors were very good and responsible, but the reviewers were slow in responding, taking 2-3 months each time, which was very frustrating. However, the end result was good. It must be said that the editors were very meticulous and responsible, waiting for each reviewer's response, but the process was indeed very slow.

I had already tentatively accepted in May, but a few formatting issues were sent back to me two or three times. The problems were not all addressed at once, and each time I returned it, there was no news for two months. I emailed the editorial department, but even the editor's personal email did not reply. I'm so angry - withdrawing the submission is not an option, and waiting is not an option either. I submitted it on New Year's Day, and it still hasn't been accepted. I have revised it 6 times, and each time it is sent back for editorial assessment, it takes at least a month and a half. I have never seen a journal and editor like this before.
